While I'm waiting.....

1/21/2014 0 Comments
So while I'm waiting on the iron to heat up to I can iron some fabric for the Little Miss, I figured I'd write a quick post about some more shirts I altered.

This alteration is for me, and I love how it turned out!

The inspiration for this shirt came from {HERE}
{source}
I don't normally 'do' hearts but I like the cross-stitched nature of this one.
(I can hear that my iron has reached temp, but I'm not done yet!)

So I just followed her tutorial and used heart no. 3, on Rae's onesie I used heart no. 1

So here are just some silly pics while I was trying to get a decent picture of the shirt. Selfies are hard sometimes. Doesn't help that I didn't realize there was schmutz on the camera lens on that first one.

Apparently, I also had a thing for stripes this year. Whelp there's my first V-day shirt for me and it even has a heart. I may have to cross-stitch more crap on shirts. It was quick and easy. Oh yea, and total cost for this project was $7.30. Not to shabby!

Heartbreaker!

Well I shared 3 of the onesies I got done for Rae so now it's the boys' turn.

My big guy is getting to the age where he doesn't want girls liking him and he is not cute - he's handsome. When did my 8-year old get so old? On the upside, his levels of sarcasm are coming along nicely, which is why the shirt that I made this year works so well for him and Small Fry. Small Fry has absolutely no problem with being cute and sarcastic.

Here's the picture I shared on Instagram a few days ago.

Here's the finished product.

Here are the boys modeling them and goofing off.

Making the appliqué was simple. I used my silhouette to cut out the freezer paper stencil for the name tag, then I painted the name tag and freehanded the name. Pinned it to the shirt where I thought it looked good and stitched it down. Easy peazey lemon squeezy.

Onesie Mania!

What happens when you're motivated and inspired? You start churning out clothes for you and the kids in record time. Its a shame I haven't learned how to control time, because there is seriously not enough time in my day to work on everything that's floating around in my brain.

I'm going to show off 3 onesies I've made for Baby Rae today, but I've got 4 more in the works, plus shirts for the boys and I'll be showing off a shirt I altered for me tomorrow. Told ya, I've been busy.

Ever since we found out that Baby Rae was, well, going to be Baby Rae, I've been planning. Planning on everything that I want my sweet baby girl to wear. I blame my mother for this condition. My mom sewed for me. Lots of things, lots of dresses. Its my turn now! So here are the onesies I've churned out so far.

This onesie was inspired by I Am Momma - Hear Me Roar.

Everyone has seen the necklace onesies. I just did mine in metallic gold paint. No frills.

This one was inspired by some of the vintage images on The Graphics Fairy! I printed out the light bulb and then copied it onto the onesie with my trustee sharpie. I added her initials to the light bulb just because. :)

I can't wait to show off what else I've been up to.

Quick Update!

So did everyone have a good holiday? We did. It flew by faster than I would have liked, but boy am I glad we're into the new year now.

So everyone's made their resolutions, right? I have, well really its a promise. Resolutions are so easily broken. I'm promising myself to be better, in all aspects. Yep, the hubs and I have even already started.

We started Focus T25 the week of New Year's. We're into our second week and we're starting to feel and see results. Yay!

Second, I'm trying to not fall into "Mom Mode". You know the mode I mean. The sweats, no make up, hair not done mode. Nope, I'm going to take pride in myself.

I've got so much to share, now if only I'd remember to bring the camera upstairs to get the pictures off of it. :)

Here's a snapshot of what I've been doing though!
I'm gathering measurements for the hutch I want to put on top of my buffet. I've got the plan sketched out. Now I just need to hop into SketchUp and design it there. Just to make sure my sketches work.

Some headbands for Miss! Can you believe she's almost 12 weeks old!

Bowties for the boys! Big Guy even wants me to make him one for school! Yay! I'm so glad they're easy to whip up.

Two versions of the same hat. The navy blue one does not fit as well, so I'm going to give it to my sister. Love the hot pink one though! Oh yea, did you see my new glasses. Yep. I'm a glasses wearer now.

Another new hat. It needs to be finished. I haven't found the right button for it yet. I have another version of this hat for Miss as well, but it's not done yet either. Its missing its button as well. :)

Well that's my quick update! Hopefully I can get my act together to get an actual post written up here shortly!

Day 6 - Cardio

Nailed It!!!!

That's it. Just nailed it.

I'm still modifying, but I'm modifying the modified moves to be somewhere between the actual move and the modified move.

Feeling so good today after today's workout. Sweaty but feeling a rejuvenated tiredness.

T25: Days 4-6

Well the first week is almost done and today is STATurday.

I have mixed feelings about this. Well about my stats.

My weight went up. Not a lot, but it went up. I followed the damn diet. Grumble. Anyways here are my beginning stats and today's stats.

I didn't take a picture today. I'll take one tomorrow when I'm in workout garb. I'm not even looking at exercise clothes today. It's a rest day

So it's awesome that I lost inches, but the weight loss along with inches lost would have been nice. I know I'm being a bit whiny. I shouldn't be.

Anyways I'm going to enjoy lunch with the hubs now. Just wanted to write a little note about the stats.

Total Body Circuit - Day 3

1/01/2014 0 Comments
Copied from my T25 log today -

Dying. Roses are red. Violets are blue. I hurt everywhere. Boo hoo.

Yep that pretty much sums up the first total body circuit that stupid happy Shaun T put me thru. Ok, really I can't blame him. I'm the one that choose to do this. He designed it so I'd be mean to him. I'm sure tomorrow's ab circuit will be amazingly easy compared to today.

I definitely didn't come anywhere near "nailing it" today. Struggled with it isn't even a good adjective. Some parts were just fine. Then we dido the stupid planking section. Hate planks with a renewed vigor that I didn't know existed inside me until today. Yea, it was that hard.

I have a hard time with plank. It hurts my lower back and knees, so I modify. This is not an issue. It becomes an issue when you start doing oblique push-ups. What's an oblique push-up, you ask. Well it's a terrible, terrible push-up that has your foot somewhere near your shoulder as you perform said push-up. That may be an exaggeration, but yea your leg is definitely not beyond your behind where it belongs. This is a hard maneuver for me, because in order for me to even rootely stay in a somewhat plank position, read my back kind of balancing a glass of water, then my legs shouldn't move. Problems of long-legged girls. I can't fit my bent leg underneath my chest while doing plank. My arms are to short. One could argue that my shins are to long, as well. I don't know of a good modifier for this, so I just did push-ups. Those sucked as well, but at least I know I can grunt through them.

The other complaint? Squats. Hate squats. My butt hates squats. My quads hate squats. My knees are tired of squats. It's a shame that I like my butt more when I do squats.

With all of this angst, you'd think that I had a terrible workout, but I didn't. It was hard and kicked my derrière, but it was a good one and looking forward to being able to "nail it."

I am looking forward to STATurday though. It'll be interesting to see if there've been any changes.
