Stacked Window Mirror

You know those projects that just never quite get done?

You know the ones.

The ones that are good enough until you get around to actually finishing them.

This is one of those projects. It's been above my mantle for almost 5 years, and the whole time it's been unfinished.

Until now. Well actually until just before Super Bowl this year, but I wasn't posting then, so it doesn't count.

Fit 4 Thursday

Fit 4 Thursday

Welcome to yet another feature!

Seeing as how I have so many interests and in yesterday's post the husband very wisely suggested having a plan, Thursdays will be reserved for fitness and health related posts. It could be a super, yummy good-for-you recipe (that might be parent approved, but not kid approved), or dialogues about training plans, exercise routines, etc.

Monday will also be about fitness, but it'll be a recap of the previous week's training, my goals for the week and my motivators. It will mostly be about me, and Thursday's will be about you. That's fair, right?

Anyways, on to today's topic.....

What to Eat Wednesday

What to Eat Wednesday

So I've rebooted my blogs. Now what?

Obviously, I should post, but what to post?

After mulling over my quandary, and then talking to the husband about said quandary, he gave me some direction.

Don't just fly by the seat of your pants. You're a planner. Have a plan.

So then the brainstorming began, and after batting some ideas around, I'd like to welcome you to the very first What to Eat Wednesday!

The plan is to share recipes that I like, and that have been family-approved.

The approval may not be unanimous though. We do have a picky eater in the house. If he could, I think he'd try and survive off of PBJs and Mac 'N Cheese.

I am super excited to share the recipe for today. Its one of my favorites and is the 2nd best way to eat up the ricotta I made yesterday.

Brightening the Kitchen

7/20/2015 0 Comments
When we moved into our house 6 years ago, I knew that our kitchen was going to be a deep red. I had seen a model home, in our area, with antiqued white cabinets and walls the color of autumn maple leaves. I was smitten. That was the kitchen I wanted.

Well, I didn't get antiqued white cabinets, but I did get the wall color. I loved it. It made me happy. Then last year, I started to have stirrings of wanting a lighter, brighter kitchen, but I still loved the red. I just wanted to be able to work in the kitchen without having to turn on a light.

So this is what the kitchen looked like 4 years ago. Right after we finished tiling the backsplash.

Where to start?

I used to be really good at this blogging thing. Ok, maybe not good, but at least competent.

I had lists, plans, and a direction. Now I kind of feel like a bag of bouncy balls has been released inside my brain, and they're all clamoring for attention. All of those little ideas wants to be let out now. They want to show the world what they can do, or at least get out of my brain, so its a little less cluttered.

A lot has happened since October last year, but I'm going to talk about my approach to fitness. I actually dislike that phrase a lot. Approach to fitness. Am I stalking it? Is it prey? A pretty bird that needs to be in a zoo somewhere? Is it a disease?

Time for a reboot

So things have changed. I combined my two blogs. Changed the names, and spent the day tweaking the look, and I think I've got it.

I've got some stuff to share. Projects that have been done, new take on my training. Life in general.

Right now, though, I'm going to kick back with the husband and relax.

Have a great Friday, y'all!

From Hiatus to Halloween

So wow. It's been 8 months. Ok well like 7.5 months, but who's counting.

A lot has happened this year. Went on a cruise, lost some weight, ran some races, and enjoyed life.

Did you know that having three children is a juggling act? I mean not like, oh look, I can juggle three balls, but like hey look at me juggle these three balls, and a chainsaw, some machetes and a goat. All at once. All of this has left little time for me to focus on the house or crafting. Any sewing I've done has been a necessity. Not just because. Until now.

There's been some sewing. And crafting. And general mayhem. Anyways, I've digressed. A lot.

I have returned to dolling up the house for a holiday! Halloween has arrived. It's up a little later than usual because Small Fry's birthday was last week and we had his party on Saturday - more later.

Even if I did get most of this crafting done today, doesn't mean I haven't been scouring Pinterest for some cute Halloween ideas. I decided that I didn't want anything too over the top because I'm going to have to blend/hide it for Little Miss' birthday at the end of the month so low key was the main idea. So here a few pics I snapped of the latest a Halloween decor.
